About Emily 

I am a wife and mother of 2 young boys ages 9 and 6. I have been baking since age 14 and I attended TSTC Waco where I majored in Culinary Arts after high school. I was born and raised in DeLeon TX,currently residing in Stephenville TX with my family where we run multiple local businesses.​ I focus mainly on simple, and natural ingredients in my baking to prove simple cakes can be beautiful. I love experimenting with new flavors and creating delicious things people will love. I have spent years perfecting my recipes into something I am proud to have the ability to share. There is no greater feeling than watching something you created bring others happiness. My idea behind the “home” feel of The Red Umbrella is to give a slice of that nostalgic feeling of a warm Saturday at your moms house with all the windows open and that southern summer breeze in the air accompanied by the smell of a fresh buttermilk pound cake or chocolate pie, straight from the oven, cooling on the counter. The feeling of homegrown foods and recipes passed down from those no longer with us is what I keep at the heart of The Red Umbrella. I’m honored to be able to keep some of these recipes alive that have been passed on to me and share them with you in hopes they bring you a little slice of happiness and remind you in a hectic time to breathe, and enjoy something simple.

Our Products

Our menu is a mixture of recipes I have created and perfected over time and also some home grown recipes passed down to me from grandmothers, aunts, and some beautiful women I never got the chance to meet in my life. Recipes from yellowed and stained cook books held together by frail stitching and note cards written in the hand writing of my grandmothers. The recipes I recreate now at The Red Umbrella are recipes that they made for the ones they loved and now I get to share them with you. Our goal here is Family Recipes, Re-imagined. Grandmothers recipes decorated in a Pinterest worthy fashion. We hope to make everyday sweeter for you whether it be a Tuesday after work or your wedding day.
